Shari Holbert Lipner
Biography
Shari Holbert Lipner is Community Information Coordinator for the City of
Miami Beach. For seven years, Ms. Lipner was a Public Information Officer with
Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Department, handling media relations, special
event planning, writing and representing the Fire Rescue Department and the
Office of Emergency Management as a spokesperson.
Prior to her role with MDFR, Shari gained fifteen years of experience in the
fields of Public Relations and Broadcast News. After graduating the University
of Miami with a dual degree in Communications / Politics and Public Affairs, she
worked at WCIX when the local independent station became a CBS owned and
operated station. After experiencing the change in station identity, operations
and even call letters, she accepted a position with WPLG, a Post-Newsweek
Station, where she worked as an associate director, promotions coordinator,
associate producer and special projects producer.
Shari’s career had her at the right place at the right time. As a corporate
communications specialist with the HMO CareFlorida, she worked to develop the
company mission statement and, since she was hired shortly after Hurricane
Andrew devastated much of the community, she worked to develop a comprehensive
corporate crisis response and recovery plan.
Shari also has experience working with strategic marketing firms, working on
significant projects such as the development of the first private company to
offer GPS systems to the general public and the launching of the Discovery
Channel and Weather Channel in Latin America.
Shari lives in Northeast Miami-Dade County with her husband and two children. |
