There are two monthly meetings of PIOs in Region 2.

Each month, on the first Friday of the month, the PIOs and media of Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River County meet at 8:30 a.m. The locations vary.

Bio of Mark Weinberg

Mark Weinberg has been Public Information Officer of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office since 1991.

A native of Washington, D.C. he holds a B.A. degree from DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind., and a Master of Public Administration degree from The American University, Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, he worked as a newspaper, radio and television journalist for more than 12 years; and for five years he was governmental affairs coordinator of the seven-square-mile St. Lucie West real estate development now under the management of Core Communities.

He is married and lives in unincorporated St. Lucie County.
